The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) continues to inspect companies that resorted to court rulings to import merchandise, presenting irregularities. Thus, the agency reported on Monday (18.09.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) that it managed to detect A company that imported tires through 30 judicial precautionary measures filed since 2020.
According to Customs, the total amount of the precautionary measures requested was USD 156,7 million, of which only 23% was used.
"After verifying that the company had stock of imported goods, Customs filed a lawsuit to revoke the precautionary measures granted because one of the essential requirements had not been verified: the danger of delay in granting the judicial benefit," the statement said.
In this regard, the agency explained that these requested precautionary measures "did not respond to emergencies nor prevent a potential danger in the delay since the company has authorizations available through judicial means that double its historical import maximums."
"The company's goal is to overstock merchandise at the official dollar value. The abusive use of precautionary measures threatens production and work in our country. Above all, we must protect Argentine employment," said the Director General of Customs Guillermo Michel, according to official information.
