The presidents of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, and Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, have pledged to intensify contacts between security authorities to eliminate criminal organizations operating between the two countries.
President Abdo Benítez made an official visit to Brasilia on Tuesday, responding to an invitation from his Brazilian counterpart, Jair Bolsonaro.

Abdo Benitez and Bolsonaro They reaffirmed bilateral cooperation to combat transnational organized crime. They also agreed to intensify contacts between security and intelligence authorities to improve coordination, with a view to eliminating criminal organisations operating between the two countries.
The Brazilian president thanked the Paraguayan authorities for their efforts to expedite the process for the expulsion of highly dangerous Brazilian criminals from the country and their transfer to the Brazilian Federal Police.

The leaders highlighted the harmony of visions, ideals and values regarding the ongoing efforts to promote the rule of law and democracy in South America and to strengthen regional integration.
In this regard, they reiterated their firm commitment to continue supporting the Venezuelan people and the Government of President in Charge Juan Guaidó, in the transition process with a view to the prompt restoration of democracy in Venezuela.
Finally, Abdo Benítez extended an invitation to Bolsonaro to make an official visit to Paraguay, on a date to be agreed upon through diplomatic channels. The Brazilian president gladly accepted the invitation.
