Industrial activity in Argentina rose 4,4% in October compared to the same month in 2016, and 1,8% so far this year, the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) reported.
The Monthly Industrial Indicator (EMI), which measures the increase in industrial activity, registered a rise of 2,3% in September, while in August and July the growth was 5,1 and 5,9% respectively.
In the month of October, they held the activity the red meat (20%), the industry of cigarettes (17%) and the production of industrial gases (13,9%), while they suffered a recoil el sugar y confectionery products (28,4%), the oil refining (13,1%), dairy (8,9%) and the grinding of cereals and oilseeds (3%).
The industrial sector had been experiencing continuous contraction since February 2016 until April of this year.
The year 2016 closed with a cumulative fall of 4,6% compared to 2015.
