The World Customs Organization (WCO) has published this Friday (29.01.2021) a New reference for the Tariff Classification (HA) of vaccines, supplies and related equipment. It is addressed to its members and other interested parties throughout the world who,  in order to facilitate cross-border movement, wish to support the distribution effort of such a cutting-edge preparation.

La official communication It states that “in this new phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, when vaccines are ready for distribution, the WCO Council has mandated the Secretariat to work with relevant international organizations to develop guidance materials to facilitate the cross-border movement of critical medicines and vaccines, highlighting the existing SA classification for critical medicines, vaccines and associated medical supplies needed for their manufacture, distribution and use.”

In view of this, “The WCO Directorate of Tariff and Trade Affairs, in close cooperation with the World Health Organization, has prepared a new HS classification reference for vaccines and medical consumables. that are normally used during the vaccination process, including the equipment used for their storage and transportation,” the statement said.
