The Honduran Customs Administration decided on Tuesday (10.11.2020) to establish new special procedures in the context of the catastrophe that the country is experiencing, following the impact of tropical storm ETA.
Thus, the agency enabled six temporary deposits to carry out the operations that were carried out at the La Mesa Customs Office while the respective repairs are carried out there. This internal agency is located in La Lima, Cortés department, in northern Honduras.
“To avoid an interruption in customs services and operations, warehouses have been enabled and authorized BTD CUSTOMS & WAREHOUSE SA, ALMASA, HONDUMARES, SICARGA, ZOFRACO AND DHL in the North Zone"to provide the attention that the Customs Public Service Assistants in their different modalities require," reported the National Director of Customs Operations, Marco Tulio Abadie, on the social network Twitter.
The Private Temporary Warehouses will offer these services while the La Mesa Customs facilities remain closed due to the work that will be carried out for their restoration and subsequent adaptation.
“So the International transits must be registered with customs code 011 La Mesa Customs and in the observations box of the Central American Single Transit Declaration (DUCA T) detail the Temporary Warehouse under its jurisdiction where all the merchandise will be nationalized and we have announced which ones are enabled and authorized," Marco Tulio Abadie explained.
He added that "the resumption of normal operations at the SWISSPORT and AIMAR Private Depots, also affected by storm ETA, will be announced later."
Regarding used vehicles that arrive at the Agua Caliente Customs Office with Occasional Transit (TO), they must be sent in Internal Transit to the BTD Customs & Warehouse SA Temporary Warehouse, the only one authorized for their nationalization.
