The Superintendent of the Tax Administration of Guatemala, Marco Livio Díaz Reyes, swore in Edwin Orlando Curtidor Juárez as the new Superintendent of Customs, the entity announced this Friday (12.07.2024).
Curtidor occupies this position in the SAT, replacing Werner Ovalle RamirezWho He legally left office last January.
After his engagement, Curtidor “will be in charge of the model of control, facilitation and modernization in customs, as well as the plan to combat fraud and smuggling", as SAT itself was responsible for communicating.
Curtidor is a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor (University of San Carlos of Guatemala), with a Master's Degree in Administration and Tax Law and a Higher Diploma in Customs Administration (University Galileo). In addition, he has a closed curriculum in a Master's Degree in Strategy, Security and Defense.
With more than 25 years of experience at SAT, he has held different positions as a professional specialized in customs.
In this capacity, he has participated as Port Facility Protection Auditor in different ports in the Central American country and serves as the titular representative of the 2024 Board of Directors of the National Port Commission.
Currently, Curtidor is Technical Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Regional Intelligence Office RILO Central America of the World Customs Organization (WCO).
