Argentina: Meat imports from Brazil allowed

-

The government has authorized the importation of beef from Brazil to Argentina, a measure that could have an impact on the local market.

This is a new health model that will allow a greater entry of boneless meat into Argentina from the neighboring country and main trading partner in Mercosur.

The determination was made known through a resolution of the National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (SENASA), in which he stated: "The import of fresh boneless beef to the Argentine Republic is operational".

Brazil was given permission to import meat to Argentina after the United States announced last month that it would resume exporting pork to the country, a market that had been closed for 25 years.

The trade agreement became known after American Vice President Mike Pence visited Buenos Aires.
