Government lowered export duties on processed fishery products

The national government decided to reduce export duties for fishery products processed entirely in the country, through Decree 754 / 2021 .

According to the measure, published this Saturday (06.11.2021) in the Official Gazette, export duties - until now 4.5% - are eliminated for preserves and preparations of fish and seafood processed entirely in Argentina, whether these are semi-ready or ready-made dishes, in sauces or oils. In other cases, the export duty rates were reduced, as in the case of packaged "easy peel" or "ail long" shrimp, whose tariff dropped from 5% to 1%, and clean squid tubes in packages of up to one kilo, whose rate goes from 7% to 5%.

In turn, export duties on corvina will rise to 5% - instead of 7% - and in the case of whiting, sole, grouper, sea bream, among other frozen fillets of marine species, tariffs will be reduced to 3%, from a rate of 5%.

The official text states that the new aliquot scale It is governed by a “logic of promoting development and incentivizing” the production and exports of fishing production chains with the aim of promoting added value and boosting job creation.

This Decree is in force from the date of its publication.
