Uruguayan exports of goods reached U.S. $ 1.541 millones, in May 2022, a sum that represents a growth of 57% compared to the previous month, reported the promotional organization Uruguay XXI.
Foreign sales totaled USD 5 million so far in 516, including free trade zones, which implies an increase of 2022% in the year-on-year comparison.

The director of the entity, Sebastián Risso, identified the most exported goods as soybean with an increase of 96%, in first place, followed by beef, cellulose, vehicles and rice.
China leads the destinations of foreign sales, with 24%, followed by Brazil, with 12%; the European Union 9%, Argentina 8%, United States 6%, and Algeria 2%.
The Asian country increased its purchases of Uruguayan products by 53%, which represents some USD 325 million, in beef, soybeans, meat by-products, cattle on the hoof and wood, among the main products acquired.Monthly Report on Foreign Trade Uruguay XXI May 2022)
