This was stated by the Secretary of Government for Agroindustry during the meeting held by the ministers of the CAS and their Chinese counterparts within the framework of the first edition of the multi-sector exhibition China International Import Expo (CIIE), in Shanghai.
The Secretary of the Government of Agroindustry of the Nation, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, participated together with the President of China, XI Jinping and authorities from other governments, in the inauguration of the first edition of the CIIE fair. In addition, Etchevehere and the members of the Southern Agricultural Council (CAS), met with the Chinese Minister of Agriculture, HAN Changfu.
China International Import Expo is the first multi-sector exhibition held in that country dedicated entirely to the import of international suppliers. and which takes place from November 5 to 10, 2018 in the city of Shanghai.
Argentina has a high profile from the exportable offer promoted by the national government through the Secretariat of Agroindustry of the Ministry of Production and Labor, and the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade (AAICI).

During the CAS meeting with Chinese Minister of Agriculture, HAN Changfu, Etchevehere indicated that "we continue to strengthen our ties as strategic partners in the region to establish ourselves as reliable suppliers of quality food to one of the countries with the highest demand in the world.»
At the meeting, biotechnology events were discussed produced in the region, new technologies to improve productivity, how to avoid weed resistance and the promotion of sustainable production.
"It is important to be able to work together with China on the regulation and promotion of biotechnology, and on the joint development of new events. Our farmers will greatly benefit from the incorporation of these innovations, which will allow us to continue to sustainably increase our agro-industrial production and strengthen our capacity to be food suppliers to China," said Etchevehere, Pro Tempore President of the CAS.
CAS members expressed to Minister HAN Changfu the need for the bloc to renew and expedite new event approvals and pledged to work with our countries on a scientific basis.
Both parties highlighted the great future potential due to the productive complementarity of the regions.
