The national government approved the bases for the Argentine Digital Agenda with the aim of projecting a vision of a country driven by technology that allows for setting priorities and generating a roadmap to accelerate digital transformation.
Thus establishes, the Decree 996 / 2018 published this Monday (5.11.2018) in the Official Gazette. The rule also states that the The Argentine Digital Agenda facilitates the incorporation of the best international practices in digital matters, such as those suggested by the OECD and G20.
Purposes
The text indicates that the purpose The aim is to promote legal frameworks that allow taking advantage of digital opportunities; facilitate the development of infrastructure and accessibility that connects everyone in an intelligent way; develop an efficient and effective government, oriented towards the citizen, with values of openness and transparency; promote digital education to favour the employability of citizens in the future and boost the country's economic growth through digital development, through a quantitative and qualitative leap in productivity and competitiveness, as well as develop cybersecurity capabilities to generate confidence in digital environments and promote the country's international prominence in the process of digital transformation.
Planning and Monitoring Council
To this end, the decree creates the Planning and Monitoring Council, made up of heads of the Ministry of Production and Labor, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, the Government Secretariat for Modernization, the Secretariat of Labor and Employment, the Government Secretariat for Agroindustry and the Secretariat of Science and Technology and Productive Innovation, in order to define the strategic guidelines of the Argentine Digital Agenda for its development.
