The Government regulated the Knowledge Economy Law through the Decree 1034 / 2020 published this Monday (21.12.2020) in the Official Gazette, which aims to promote new technologies and generate added value.
It also aims to promote quality employment, Facilitate the development of SMEs and increase exports of companies engaged in the software industry; nanotechnology; biotechnology; the audiovisual, aerospace and satellite industries; engineering for the nuclear industry and robotics, among other activities.
The Undersecretariat of Knowledge Economy will convene companies in the sector to form the first sectoral roundtable, a forum for dialogue in which the scope of this Law will be explained in detail and a joint action plan will be worked on for 2021.
Law 27.570, passed by Congress in October of this year, offers tax benefits to promote the activities of this sector, as a Zero percent (0%) export duty on the export of services, the segmented reduction of Income Tax according to the size of the company and a reduction of up to 70% in employer contributions.
In addition, it grants additional benefits in employer contributions for companies that employ women, people with disabilities, residents of less developed areas, transvestites and transsexuals.
