The Government made official this Sunday (24.05.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) the extension of the social, preventive and mandatory isolation imposed by the coronavirus pandemic until June 7th inclusive, as well as all the "complementary regulations" derived from that measure.
Through the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) 493/2020, which will be published in the next few hours in the Official Gazette, the Executive Branch decided to extend until "June 7, 2020, inclusive," the validity of Decree No. 297, which established the quarantine on March 20 and was extended on successive occasions.
"All complementary regulations issued regarding social, preventive and mandatory isolation" are also extended until that date.
In the recitals of the DNU, the Government stated that these measures "have made it possible, so far, to contain the epidemic, due to the gradual appearance and early detection of cases and the implementation of control actions for cases with a shorter evolution time, registering a decrease in the speed of spread in a large part of the country, and having avoided, to date, the saturation of the health system, unlike what has happened in other places in the world."
The objective of social, preventive and mandatory isolation "has been and continues to be the recovery of the highest possible degree of normality in terms of economic and social functioning, but with strong monitoring of the epidemiological evolution, especially in those situations that require a special and differential approach, to contain in a timely and sufficient manner the growing demand for cases and the particularities of each situation," indicated the DNU.
