The Government will be able to review the Declarations of Export Operations of Meat (DJEC) of those meat processing plants that do not comply with the prices agreed in the Cortes Cuidados program, with the purpose of harmonizing "the development of Argentine livestock, the national consumer market and the country's export capacity."
The measure was reflected in the Joint Resolution 4/2022 of the Ministries of Productive Development and Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, published today (08.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette.
"The Secretariat of Domestic Trade will inform the National Directorate of Agricultural Trade Control of any non-compliance, within the scope of its jurisdiction, with price agreements and/or regulations applicable to the beef industry entered into by the obligated parties," was determined in the first article of the norm.
The second article of the resolution establishes that "the National Directorate of Agricultural Trade Control will observe the Affidavits of Meat Export Operations (DJEC)," as reported by the Secretariat of Domestic Trade, "until it reports that the obligated subjects have complied with the applicable regime."
According to information provided yesterday by Comercio Interior, the prices per kilo of the seven cuts of meat that are part of the program are the following: Strip steak $679, Flank steak $815, Matambre $810, Skirt $449, Top sirloin $679, Butt $859 and Shoulder $699.
The DJECs were established through Joint Resolution 3/2021 on Agriculture and Productive Development and include exports of "Fresh, chilled or frozen meat of bovine, porcine, ovine, caprine, equine and Gallus domesticus species."
