The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) established that companies in the Knowledge Economy will be able to request a certificate of exclusion from withholding and/or collection of Value Added Tax, starting next May 10.
In a statement, the AFIP said that "among the beneficiaries of the Knowledge Economy Promotion Regime is the possibility of exclusion from the VAT withholding and collection regimes.
La General Resolution No. 4958/2021 which was published in the Official Gazette established the procedure for requesting the certificate accrediting said exclusion.
Subjects who are registered and enabled in the National Registry of Beneficiaries of the Knowledge Economy Promotion Regime, and who have carried out one or more export operations in the three months prior to the date of registration, may request the certificate.
They must request it through the service "Request for a Certificate of Exclusion of Withholding and/or Collection of Value Added Tax", starting May 10, 2021.
Once the application has been approved, the name and CUIT of the beneficiary will be published on the agency's website, as well as the duration of the exclusion, during which period the VAT withholding and/or collection agents will be exempt from carrying out such operations.
The promotional regime, created by Law 27.506, aims to promote new technologies, generate added value, encourage quality employment, facilitate the development of SMEs and increase exports of companies dedicated to knowledge-based services.
