The Government made it official through the Decree 131 / 2022 the rise of the retentions as published this Saturday (19.03.2022/31/790) in the Official Gazette, as part of the series of measures anticipated to combat inflation by President Alberto Fernández. According to the text, decree 2020 of XNUMX, in which the rates were reduced, is suspended "until December XNUMX" Export rates for soybean meal and oil to 31% and reinstated the value of 33% set in decree 230 of May of that year.
In addition, with the Decree 132 / 2022, the creation of the Argentine Wheat Stabilizing Public Trust Fund, “with the aim of stabilizing the cost of the ton of wheat purchased by Argentine mills.”
The Fund Trust Agreement will be signed by the Ministry of Productive Development, “and the public entity, public banking entity or controlled company designated by the Implementing Authority as trustee.”
In its considerations, the Government argues that “the new international situation (referring to the war in Ukraine following the Russian invasion and its economic consequences) requires the adoption of urgent measures to help stabilize the domestic prices of essential products for the food of Argentines, as well as to maintain a volume adequate to meet the supply needs of the domestic market, encouraging greater production of these goods in the chain that goes from the primary producer to the final consumers.”
