The Government made official the postponement until July 1 of the update of the fuel tax, through the decree 381 / 2019 from the Official Gazette published this Thursday (29.05.2019/XNUMX/XNUMX).
The official text states that "The increase in the tax amounts established in the first paragraph of article 4 of Chapter I of Title III of Law No. 23.966, text consolidated in 1998 and its amendments, resulting from comparing the values updated as of December 31, 2018 with those updated as of March 31, 2019, in accordance with the terms of article 7 of the Annex of Decree No. 501 of May 31, 2018, will take effect for taxable events that are perfected as of July 1, 2019, inclusive.
In the grounds, it is stated "that in article 7 of the Annex of Decree No. 501 of May 31, 2018, it was established that the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), an autonomous entity within the scope of the Ministry of Finance, will update the amounts of the tax established in the aforementioned first paragraph of article 4, in the months of January, April, July and October of each year, considering, in each case, the variation of the CPI provided by the INDEC
corresponding to the calendar quarter that ends the month immediately preceding the update that is carried out«.
And it is emphasized "that current circumstances and the necessary stabilization of prices warrant that the update carried out in April 2019 take effect as of July 1, 2019."
