In order to enhance trade facilitation in the context of the pandemic, the General Secretariat of the Central American Economic Integration System (SIECA) is redoubling its efforts to digitalize the exchange of information between authorities and companies through a new digital application.
The mobile application of the Central American Trade Network (REDCA) responds to the most comprehensive virtual business intelligence platform in the region, developed by the Center for Economic Integration Studies (CEIE) of the General Secretariat of SIECA.
The initiative was launched in 2020, within the framework of SICA's Regional Contingency Plan against the coronavirus. With this new support, the way in which foreign trade is operated is improved and value is generated for companies in Central America.
“REDCA is a free platform with More from 18.000 companies with which you can maintain permanent contact, and with this application for mobile devices you can take much more advantage of business in the Central American markets and outside the region to continue strengthening them," according to the words of Secretary General of SIECA, Ambassador Melvin Redondo.
It is the largest directory in Central America and has specialized tools that allow the link with other companies 28 countries in the world.
This electronic platform was developed with the financial support of the European Union, for whose representative in Nicaragua, Laurent Sillano, “This tool will help entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, to do business from home".
Thus, the application offers services to companies, with the aim of facilitating trade in terms of strengthening interactions with customers and suppliers, greater access to markets, a huge availability of information for decision-making, improvements in productivity and new possibilities for innovation in products, processes and business models. It is available for Android and iOS devices.
