The third round of negotiations for the Full and operational incorporation of El Salvador into the deep integration between Guatemala and Honduras It ended this Friday (19.098.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) with strong political and technical support from the public authorities of those Central American countries, SIECA reported.
The meeting took place during the week where the technical tables (customs, migration, taxes, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, security, origin and tariffs); and concluded with the meeting of the Ministerial Instance attended by the Ministers of Economy of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
Integrated border posts
During the conclave the necessary documents were approved to enable the El Amatillo integrated border post, located between Honduras and El Salvador, which will speed up the land transit of trade at this border crossing. In addition, the agenda included the approval of the operating costs of this integrated border post, as well as the physical, furniture and computer installation adaptations required to implement the control and facilitation area at this border post.
SIECA plans to launch the Advance Declaration on August 24th. Pedro de Alvarado and La Hachadura, border crossing located between Guatemala and El Salvador, as the first concrete step of the Salvadoran government within the process of Deep Integration.
With this combination of political support, monitoring of technical processes by political authorities and methodological decision, the three Central American countries that make up the Northern Triangle hope to achieve significant progress in the process of deep integration and customs union.
