Canada allocates huge aid to strengthen customs integrity in Latin America

The Government of Canada unblocked a financial aid for Support the efforts of eight customs authorities in Latin America and the Caribbean in promoting integrity and good governance, with a plan of approximately 2,5 million euros (3.496.777 CAD), the World Customs Organization (WCO) reported.

This additional funding will expand and sustain the activities of the “Program for the Promotion of Integrity and the Fight against Corruption (A-CIP) in the region, for the next three years, he added release.

The A-CIP Programme offers a results-based approach to integrity-related capacity-building initiatives. It complements other WCO enforcement and security programmes, such as the Container Control Programme (CCP), as well as trade facilitation.
