Key changes in the AFIP

The Federal Public Revenue Administration has ordered this Friday (5.10.2018) the replacement of some of the senior authorities within the framework of an institutional renewal process.

The head of the AFIP, Leandro Cuccioli appointed Marcelo Costa as the new General Director of the DGI.

According to the statement, the Administrator "considered that it is time to promote officials who have demonstrated the ability and vocation to assume greater responsibilities in new functions."

Cuccioli highlighted the extensive career of Horacio Castagnola, who until today served as General Director of the DGI.

Key profile

Costa, which has more than 35 years of experience at AFIP, served from December 2015 to date as Deputy Director General of Inspection, Among the main projects he led were sectoral studies by economic activity, electronic invoicing, the Simplified Agricultural Information System, traceability of the agri-food chain and the fight against apocryphal invoicing. 

The official is a certified public accountant from the UBA and has a specialization in International Tax Law from the University of Barcelona. He works as a teacher in postgraduate tax courses at the National University of Córdoba, Salta and Lomas de Zamora.

Other changes

The Federal Administrator further decided that Sergio Rufail He will serve as Deputy Director General of Inspection and Ana Brana as Deputy Director General of Tax Operations.
