Brazil and China create a work plan for the implementation of electronic certification for products of animal origin

-

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil and the General Administration of Customs of the Republic of China created a Work plan for mutual cooperation in the implementation of electronic certification for products of animal origin, which will represent a significant improvement by "streamlining and securing commercial transactions between countries," official sources reported.

According to the statement, the agreement was signed this Friday (14.04.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) by the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, during a meeting between Presidents Lula and Xi Jinping in Beijing.

In accordance with the work plan for the transparency measure, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the General Administration of Customs will evaluate the feasibility of exchanging data related to electronic certification and, from there, they will promote the necessary adjustments in the health management systems used in Brazil and China, and determine the models of Veterinary Certificates to be used.

International health certificates for products of animal origin are essential documents for international trade and contain information that accredits the compliance with health and food safety requirements.

It is worth remembering that China buys between 40% and 50% of beef from Brazil.
