Last week (12.01.2023), the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) began implementing the new process for controlling cargo and transit of foreign goods for air transport (CCT Aéreo).
This system makes intensive use of risk management tools and information technologies to ensure greater agility and security for international trade logistics flows at the country's airports. The goal is to reduce the average load release time by 80% and also reduce physical interventions by up to 90%. The initiative will allow the use of international standards for sending electronic information, through the Cargo XML standard, developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The development of the new system, which is the result of a partnership between the RFB Secretariat and the Civil Aviation Secretariat, was monitored by IATA and had the collaboration of private actors, especially airlines, airports and freight forwarders, the main users of the new system. The objective was to ensure that the new solutions were adapted to the needs of the users of the services, seeking maximum efficiency in their operation to provide greater competitiveness and agility to the sector.
The implementation phase began last Thursday, with the system going into operation in a training face of the Siscomex Single Portal. The RFB recommends that operators immediately begin testing and adapting their systems so that they can operate through the Air CCT during the first half of this year, when its definitive implementation and replacement of the current Mantra System will occur, according to the RFB. Implementation Schedule of the Program Single Foreign Trade Portal.
According to the RFB, the CCT Import User Manual is now available and updated. As new solutions are implemented, the manual will be updated. Contributions to improve the content are welcome and may be sent, as well as other queries or suggestions about the new process, to the corporate mailbox of the Import Clearance Division of the General Coordination of Customs Administration of the RFB (diimp.coana.df @ www.rfb.gov.br).
