The Brazilian Government announced the launch of “One Stop Shop”, a project that aims to facilitate the opening of companies throughout the country.
According to release from the Federal Revenue Secretariat (Receita Federal do Brasil), the new project will allow citizens to open a company in a simple and automatic way, reducing the time and costs to start a business.
Single window
Official information explains that Through a unique, digital form, entrepreneurs can open businesses in a single day and without having to visit several public agencies.
Everything can be done in the same virtual environment: receiving the necessary responses from the City Council; registering the company; obtaining the National Registry of Legal Entities (CNPJ) number and tax registration; unblocking the taxpayer registry; receiving licenses, when necessary; and registering employees to be hired.
One Stop Shop It will also allow entrepreneurs to register employees through e-Social.
Accession of cities
The first city to join the project was São Paulo, which already made the new system available on the 15th. The next city to offer the tool will be Rio de Janeiro.
The text explains that, according to a World Bank report, previously, to open a company in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo it was necessary to comply with 11 procedures - some in different agencies - that took an average of 17 days and generated a cost that represents 4.2% of per capita income.
These data placed Brazil in 138th place in business opening, among the 190 countries evaluated by the World Bank.
"The digital transformation into a one-stop shop in the simplified model will make Brazil gain positions in the world ranking in terms of ease of doing business," the Ministry of Economy said.
After São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the federal government wants to expand the system to all of Brazil.
The project is led by the Federal Tax Service and the Special Secretariat for Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government and was developed by the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro).
