President Mauricio Macri will inaugurate Luis Miguel Etchevehere as head of the Agroindustry portfolio on Tuesday (21.11.2017) at 14.30:XNUMX p.m., in an event that will take place at the Government House.
Among the collaborators who will accompany the former head of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA) in his management, Guillermo Bernaudo is mentioned as the future Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock, replacing Ricardo Negri, who would become president of the National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa), according to Telam.
Bernaudo served until mid-2019 as Chief of Staff of the Agroindustry portfolio, during the administration of the outgoing minister, Ricardo Buryaile.
According to the same sources, Negri's appointment to Senasa responds to the need to strengthen the work of that official department.
Some time ago, President Mauricio Macri said that there was "a lot to do" at Senasa.
"There is still much to do, especially with Customs and Senasa, they are organizations in which we have to move forward so that they facilitate, so that they do not hinder.", said the President on that occasion.
In Etchevehere's future cabinet, the current Secretary of Territorial Development, Santiago Hardie, and the Secretary of Agroindustrial Markets, Marisa Bircher, would continue in their positions.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff will be Santiago del Solar, an agricultural producer who until a few days ago served as union secretary of the Rural Society.
Juan Bosch will take over as Undersecretary of Fisheries, replacing Tomás Gerpe.
For the moment, it remains to be seen what will happen with the Secretariat of Added Value, although one possibility is that it will merge with the Secretariat of Agroindustrial Markets.
