ASAPRA launches a regional survey focused on the use of One-Stop Shops

The International Association of Professional Customs Agents (ASAPRA) will launch the Friday (02.08.2024) a questionnaire asking the main users in the private sector for their opinion on the Single Windows.

The authorities have explained that the objective is to evaluate their perception of the efficiency, security, predictability and customs compliance of this facilitation tool in different countries of the Americas and the Caribbean.

"This survey is unique because it captures user perception, which is essential to better understanding their needs and challenges," explained a study leader, Yuri da Cunha, in a note to the press to present the initiative.

Meanwhile, Nelson Brens, President of ASAPRAHe added: “This step is important because it will allow us to listen directly to those on the front lines of international trade and work together to implement effective solutions.”

The questions included in the survey addressed to users cover: six areas relating to the basic functionalities of Single Windows for export and import, the integration of technologies and interoperability of systems between the public and private sectors, customs risk management, the legal and regulatory framework of Single Windows, the fees charged for the use of Single Windows and general user satisfaction.

En 2023, ASAPRA had already launched another “Regional Consultation”. That survey yielded “excellent results”. However, in order to obtain a more complete picture of the use of the Single Window, it was decided to launch the new questionnaire to prepare a comprehensive report. Its results will be presented to the border agencies and the managers of the Single Windows of the participating countries, and will serve as a basis for future improvements in the systems, promoting greater efficiency and integration in foreign trade in the Americas and the Caribbean.

To this end, the ASAPRA survey will be available in the official languages ​​of the World Customs Organization (WCO), English and French, as well as Spanish and Portuguese, to ensure broad participation and understanding by respondents.
