The Argentine Customs completed the «1st Cycle of Cooperation and Training Days» for officials of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Secretariat at the Canine Training Center in Boulogne, Buenos Aires province, recently recognized as a “Regional Canine Training Center for the Americas and the Caribbean” by the World Customs Organization (WCO).

The event was opened by the highest authority of the Training Center and was attended by authorities from the Argentine Customs, personnel from the Center, special guests and instructors who attended in person and virtually from within the country.
The agency reported that the main ones were highlighted milestones of the Argentine Customs in the area of dogs. In this regard, he explained that “from 2004 onwards, it was decided to incorporate them as a non-intrusive control tool, with Argentine Customs being one of the pioneering administrations in their use from the point of view of customs control.”
Customs clarified that this action was in line with the standards of the SAFE Regulatory Framework to ensure and facilitate global trade of the WCO, for the detection of drugs, the flight of foreign currency and the fight against customs offences that are harmful to economic, commercial, financial, social and security interests.

It was also reported that there was a special Recognition of the first historical instructors who received national and international training and who, with vocation, generosity and love for dogs, passed on their knowledge to the first dog handlers. Special mention was also made to the team of veterinarians who travel all over the country carrying out federal health checks on dogs, making responsible ownership and animal welfare possible.
The tax and customs attaché of the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires also thanked the Argentine Customs authorities and colleagues at the Training Center for organizing this activity, which includes training and demonstration sessions at the Center and operational visits to the port and airport.
