The agency headed by Alberto Abad explained that this improvement was based on the 40,1% year-on-year growth in VAT collection in December, as well as a 47,6% increase in Income Tax.

Also notable in the month was the increase in the amount collected from the tax on bank credits and debits by 35,2%, which enabled the year to close with a modest increase of 27 percent.

In the case of taxes related to foreign trade, the amount collected from withholdings fell again, by 1,6%, while the amount collected from import duties increased by 52,8%.

Meanwhile, resources allocated to the Social Security System rose by 31,4 percent.

For the new year, the head of AFIP, Alberto Abad, said in a press conference that "the 2016 Budget forecast was made on unrealistic bases and therefore it is expected that towards the end of April, beginning of May, when the effects of the latest measures mature: reduction and elimination of withholdings; reduction of the additional tax rate on high-end cars and exemption of Income Tax on the half-year bonus, the goals for the rest of the year can be defined."
