Through the Decree 1064 / 2020, the National Executive Power introduced modifications to the Import Duty rates regarding a exception list which were duly authorized by the Common Market Council.
In this regulation, published last Thursday (31.12.2020), the government based this decision on the need to harmonize these measures with the other policies of the National State in the economic and productive field.
Let us remember that through the GMC Resolution 2672016 of July 16, 2015, the Common Market Council authorized a list of exceptions to the Common External Tariff (CET) of up to 100 codes, so that Argentina can apply a certain import duty, an exceptional measure that will be in force until December 31, 2021.
Thus, by Decree 1126/2017, the country sets the rates for such exceptions, as detailed in the Annex II.
The regulation has been in force since Friday, January 1, 2021.
