Following the opening of the US market for beef after 17 years, Argentina completed the first shipment of more than 60 tons from a meat processing plant in La Pampa, according to the National Secretariat of Agroindustry.

In this regard, the head of the portfolio, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, said: "Great news that mobilizes all the livestock industry in the Pampas and its surroundings. With the labor that this type of contract entails, today more than 450 employees are benefiting, with a sanitary framework at the height and above all with the vision of President Mauricio Macri to reinsert Argentina in international markets.", during a visit to the Carnes Pampeanas -Cresud plant, responsible for marketing.

«This export marks a new milestone for our country as a supplier of food to the world, and particularly reinforces the place of excellence that our meats have on this scale.", Etchevehere added.

“This is a historic day for us”, said the CEO of Carnes Pampeanas and vice president of Cresud, Alejandro Einstein. After highlighting the reopening of the North American beef market as a key event at the end of last November, he stressed that they made a significant investment to be able to respond to the certification requirements and to this destination, in particular.

In 2018, Argentina, according to data provided by INDEC, exported kosher meat to different destinations for more than 123 million dollars, equivalent to an average of 8.550 dollars per ton.

It is worth remembering that foods under kosher certification are prepared according to Jewish dietary standards, the laws of Kashrut.
