Argentina has reduced import tariffs on a group of capital goods products that are not produced in the country in order to encourage productive investment, the Official Gazette said on Thursday (20.9.2018).
El decree 837/2018 It modifies the treatment of imports by adding more than 100 tariff items, and reduces the rate by 12% for 322 items and 10% for the rest.
"The expansion of the list of capital goods to more than 300 tariff items implies a reduction in the cost of importing goods that are not produced in Argentina. In this way we encourage productive investment and job creation in the country," said the Minister of Production and Labor, Dante Sica, in an official statement.
Sectors
Amongst the sectors Those involved include the agricultural, metalworking, road, mining and construction sectors, and there are declines in imports of Capital goods used by the dairy industry, paper industry, ports, tourism in ski resorts and tanneries.
