The Ministry of Agriculture has distributed among fifteen companies the additional export quota of 10.530,79 tons of sugar destined for the United States, which may enter that country until September 30 of this year.

The measure was arranged through the Resolution 104 / 2022 published this Thursday (05.05.2022) in the Official Gazette.

The United States had set an export quota for Argentina of raw sugar with a polarization of no less than 96 degrees of 45.281 tons, for the period between October 1, 2021, and September 30, 2022. After deducting the polarization margin, the quota was included in 43.243,36 tons, which were distributed through resolution 220 of October 14 of last year, the resolution indicated in its recitals.

On April 18, the Office of the United States Trade Representative formalized a reallocation of the raw sugar import tariff quota for fiscal year 2022 and Argentina benefited from an additional 11.027 tons, which, after deducting the polarization margin, amounts to 10.530,79 tons.

In the distribution of this additional quota, the company that was awarded the largest tonnage was Ledesma, with 3.617,63 tons.

Next in line were Industrial Investment Company (1.894,8 tons), Arcor (1.534), Concepción Sugar Complex (1.462,22) and Prosal (1.145,1).

With smaller amounts, the companies Sala Refrescos (374,26), Argentbio (145,38), Ingenio Río Grande (134,77), Azucarera Los Balcanes (81,48), Ferma Agrobusiness (67,6), Siempre Verde (29,64), Delotte (21,17), Arquímedes Carrizo (12,09), Azucarera San Gerónimo (6,42) and Carrizo Arquímedes Ramón (4,23) were awarded.
