Argentina creates the figure of Commercial Ambassador to attract strategic investments

The National Executive Branch promulgated the Decree 43 / 2025, through which the figure of the Trade Ambassador for Investment and Strategic DevelopmentThis new designation seeks to strengthen Argentina's presence in global markets, promote exports and encourage strategic investments.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship will be responsible for appointing "outstanding businessmen" to perform this role, granting them the rank of "Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador", although on an "ad honorem" basis, in accordance with the provisions of the Law of the Foreign Service of the Nation No. 20.957.

The Government stressed that "Argentina has enormous potential in productive, industrial and service sectors, supported by the quality of its workforce, its technological capacity and the wealth of its natural resources," which represents an opportunity to expand the country's international insertion and attract key investments for its economic development.

Trade Ambassadors will assume the homework of :

  • Promote investments in strategic sectors such as technology, energy and infrastructure.
  • Facilitate the expansion of Argentine products and services in international markets.
  • Promote alliances between national and international companies.
  • Participate in international forums and negotiating tables to defend Argentina's economic interests.
  • Identify business opportunities and prepare reports on global business trends.
  • Contribute to attracting foreign direct investment.

The measure will come into effect effective immediately.
