Senior officials in South Korea finalize details for this week's APEC 2025 Summit.

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, better known by its acronym in English, has been the bloc that brings together 21 economies from countries and territories in Asia and America bordering the Pacific Ocean since 1989. This forum, one of the main spaces for global economic dialogue and a key stage for the geopolitical standoff between the United States and China, is holding its first session this week. annual summit in South Korea, with the participation of leaders such as Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping.

According to reports, Senior officials from member economies launched APEC Economic Leaders Week on Monday (27.10.2025), reaffirming its commitment to a sustainable, interconnected future based on digital innovation, in which the benefits of growth are shared equitably.

During two days of meetings, APEC senior officials will develop recommendations for ministers, define the theme of the next Economic Policy Review, analyze the outcomes of the Structural Reform Ministerial Meeting in Incheon, and follow up on the Incheon Plan, the new regional financial roadmap, according to the forum's statement. The forum represents approximately 60% of global GDP and nearly half of global trade.

The economies that make up APEC are: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.
