Alert: They impersonate AFIP to commit fraud

There have been increasing reports of a new telephone modus operandi used to steal small and large sums of money.

In response to several queries from citizens who may have been deceived in their good faith, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (Afip) issued an official statement through which it assured that "does not make phone calls about alleged current bankruptcy or possible debts to be cancelled, identifying accounts to make deposits".

"We alert everyone, so that be alert and do not respond contacts requesting unjustified payments," they explain.

They also reported that an email whose subject is "Check your credit card usage statement" sent from account no-[email protected] It does not belong to the organization either in question.

Instead, the Afip reminds taxpayers that it has enabled its channel complaints 0800-999-2347 and can also be consulted in its Internet page.
