The Ministry of Agroindustry of the Nation analyzed the logistical challenges for the sector; the development plans for railway transport; the situation on the waterway and the port problems; with the objective of facilitating the opening of new agricultural markets and promoting greater competitiveness in the agroindustrial chains.
Opening the day, the Chief of Staff of the agro-industrial portfolio, Daniel Asseff, stated that "our great motivation is to improve the transfer of products, that is why we proposed a plan with large investments in ports that are being repaired and built."
In this line, the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Ricardo Negri, considered that "we have toe work on infrastructure and logistics to gain more competitiveness in all chains, and this will be possible through joint work with other ministries and the private sector," recalling that through dialogue between the public and private sectors, Agroindustria continues to work on the development of logistics, roads, transport, infrastructure and ports suitable for expanding the agricultural sector.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Agricultural Markets, Jesus Silveyra, He stressed that "in infrastructure we managed to terminate the contract for the Mar del Plata port elevator and transfer it to the province, we are working to transfer the Buenos Aires elevator to the General Port Administration, we have supported different companies to invest in the main ports of the country, and in logistics, we participate with the Ministry of Transport in the Implementation of the new system for assigning unloading quotas at port terminals and in supporting measures that serve to lower export costs in Argentina."
