Honduran Customs announces the benefits of being an authorized economic operator

-

Aiming at traceability, and therefore at transparency in customs processes, is an objective that customs agencies around the world are pursuing. Streamlining operations through simplification and digitalization results in economic benefits for importers and exporters, as well as providing agencies with the necessary information on each of the actors in international trade.

That is why Honduras Customs moves forward with the development of the Authorized Economic Operator program (OAS) created under the guidelines of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and within the SAFE regulatory framework to ensure and facilitate trade, as well as to promote the growth of economic activity.

Under that pillar, the Customs Administration informed all actors in the logistics chain what are the benefits to be accredited as a reliable and secure economic operator.

These advantages, established by Honduras Customs, are summarized in the following points.

Benefits

  • Simplified and expedited procedures for clearing cargo by providing a minimum of information.
  • Possibility of being considered as the first option in the implementation tests of new facilitation projects developed by the Customs Services of each State Party.
  • Reduction in the percentage of control of your Declarations and charges.
  • Priority in customs controls to which your declarations or cargoes are subject.
  • Personalized assistance from the Customs Service.
  • Possibility of clearing goods at the premises of the Authorized Economic Operator or at another place authorized by Customs.
  • Any others that the Customs Administration may establish.

With the implementation of the OEA, Honduras Customs seeks to improve the competitiveness of the private sector, which also affects the competitiveness of countries and their integration into the regional and global economy.
