The significance of this meeting is due to the fact that It is expected that in the coming months it will culminate with the signing of a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) between the eleven countries of the customs administrations. In detail: the Republic of Argentina, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Costa Rica, the Republic of Guatemala, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Peru, the Dominican Republic and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, indicated the statement released on Thursday (21.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX).
This important initiative aimed to verify that plans on this topic are carried out under the Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade (SAFE Framework of Standards) developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO).
At this last meeting, the participating countries evaluated the work carried out by the host country, in addition to exchanging good practices and learning how Argentine Customs officials carry out their certification processes, identifying the requirements for approving their requirements, the evidence required and how they carry out the validation process so that companies obtain AEO certification.
The Chilean National Customs Service was represented by Waleska Lufín, from the Authorized Economic Operator Unit of the Sub-directorate of Inspection.
Participating Customs were also able to participate in validation inspections 2 companies applying for the AEO Certification in Argentina (Toyota Argentina SA and Bayer SA) during this activity.
