The General Directorate of Customs updated today (10.03.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) the reference values for the export of beef and expanded the scope of this instrument to six other beef cuts, within the framework of the instruments deployed by the Government to identify under-invoiced products in shipments abroad. "The update and expansion of the instrument was coordinated together with the Ministries of Productive Development and Agriculture within the framework of the permanent dialogue with different representative chambers of the private sector," the agency indicated.
He stressed that the reference values offer “an initial check on declarations in order to safeguard the fiscal interest, which allows for the dismantling of potential tax evasion maneuvers and abusive practices that affect the entry of foreign currency into the exchange market.” Likewise, the reference values allow for addressing unfair competition from those operators who do not comply with the rules and for detecting deviations from the usual export values for identical or similar goods.
Thus, the General Resolution 5164/2022, published in the Official Gazette, determined new reference values for the square, wide rib, breast, neck, wide rib cap and chingolo. In all cases, they will apply to packages equal to or less than 5 kilograms. At the same time, the General Directorate of Customs updated the witness prices for another group of cuts that were already reached by this tool, such as the peceto, marucha, pork loin, and bones, among other products.
These reference values will be valid for those shipments made to China, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Japan and Taiwan.
Based on the analysis of different production complexes and industries, the General Directorate of Customs began setting new reference values in 2019. Since then, reference prices have been established for the export of concentrated must, lemon essential oil, shrimp tails, blanched peanuts, dried plums, limes and lemons, shrimp, squid, hides and skins, pears, apples, garlic, pork, pear tomatoes, blueberries, powdered milk, onions, potatoes, raisins and sea bass.
