Werner Ovalle led a Regional Workshop on Data Analysis

El vice-president dand the World Customs Organization (WCO) for the Americas and the Caribbean, Werner Ovalle, addressed the participants of the event entitled “Regional Data Analysis Workshop” which began virtually this Thursday (28.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) and will end today.

In this capacity development framework, Ovalle emphasized to customs the importance of using data. “As a region, we recognize the importance of Data Analysis to improve internal processes, risk management, resource allocation and performance, and to strengthen control and improve compliance,” he stressed at the opening of the workshop in which was accompanied by experts from the WCO.

The senior official emphasized the work plan of the WCO Regional Vice-Presidency. He stressed that Institutional Strengthening, Intraregional Cooperation, Technology, as well as Logistical Security, are fundamental axes of its management.

The workshop hosted Twenty participants from twelve customs administrations of the Americas and the Caribbean to provide technical support to unite customs around digitalization.

It should be noted that the theme of the global customs community for 2022 is “Expanding the digital transformation of customs by adopting a data culture and building a data ecosystem.”
