El release indicates that the The pilot plan began to be implemented since last Monday, August 20 ysIt will be carried out through the Foreign Trade Single Windows (VUCE) from both countries, using the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) IOPack Interoperability Platform.
Today there is already an exchange of Digital Certificates of Origin (COD) between the MERCOSUR countries that has been in full force with Argentina and Brazil for more than two years and recently in force with Paraguay. This allows all exchanges of certificates of origin to be carried out electronically, thus being able to Accelerate operations, reduce costs and increase controls carried out by countries ensuring the reliability of the certifications.
The Uruguayan government will continue to work to exchange information with other countries such as Mexico, Peru and Colombia, with whom it is also working within the framework of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) in order to standardize the information to be exchanged.
Digital certification of the origin of goods will subsequently enable implementation and integration with other trade blocks worldwide, simplifying and improving cross-border trade, achieving greater competitiveness and better positioning for the country in the face of multilateral trade indices and organizations.
