ALADI Secretary General made an official visit to the Brazilian authorities

The Secretary General of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), Sergio Abreu, traveled to Brazil on Tuesday (02.04.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) to continue the agenda on integration. 

Deepen the intraregional trade is the main objective of the multilateral organization.

To this end, Abreu's program in Brasilia included a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira. During the meeting, topics related to trade, investment, regional integration, gender and digital transformation were discussed. The Brazilian Ambassador to ALADI, Antonio Simões, also participated in the dialogue.

In line with this, issues of infrastructure and multimodal transport were also addressed, “key to an integrated region.”

For this reason, the day included work meetings with authorities from the Ministry of Planning and Budget, the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency and the Brazilian Service for Support to Micro and Small Enterprises.

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry's text highlights the role of ALADI and recognizes its track record as a promoter of the integration process in South America.

It is recalled that ALADI is made up of 13 countries - Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela - which together cover 20,4 million square kilometers and almost 569 million inhabitants.
