The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Nation has determined the regulation for the import and export of pesticides and hazardous chemicals, through the Resolution 110 / 2021.
The regulation, published this Wednesday (14.04.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, is based on the Law No. 25.278 Approving the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade dated 6 July 2000.
The objective of this International Convention has been to promote shared responsibility and joint efforts of the Parties in the field of international trade in certain hazardous chemicals, in order to protect human health and the environment against possible damage and contribute to its environmentally sound use.
Based on this, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development has decided to establish the import and export procedure for the chemical products detailed in the Annex I of the standard, which are subject to Prior Informed Consent (PIC) in accordance with Law No. 25.278 that approves the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure Applicable to Certain Pesticides and Hazardous Chemicals Subject to International Trade.
Area of application
This Resolution will come into force fifteen (15) calendar days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
