The Government has deregulated a series of taxes on products from countries participating in the 48th edition of the International Book Fair.

This is established by the Decree 346 / 2024, published this Tuesday (23.04.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, whose text specifies that it is exempt from the payment of import duties, Value Added Tax (VAT), internal taxes, port service fees, statistics and verification of destination, on books, prints, atlases, music books and complementary materials from the countries participating in the event.

In addition, the measure exempts from payment of the VAT and internal taxes for the sale of these products during the fair, for the public attending the event.

According to the decree, the maximum amount exempted per participating country is $15.000, calculated on FOB values.

Finally, the regulation instructs the AFIP to carry out the necessary controls to ensure that the merchandise brought in with the benefits established in the decree is destined exclusively for sale at the fair.

Founded in 1975, the Buenos Aires International Book Fair is one of the most important cultural events in Latin America. As such, the Exhibition offers a wide variety of activities, such as book presentations, conferences, workshops and performances.
