In accordance with the reforms established by Decree 70/2023, the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) has ordered the elimination of the Registry of Exporters of Charcoal (RECAR), through the General Resolution 5551/2024.
According to the measure, published this Tuesday (20.08.2024) in the Official Gazette, the administrative burden of such registration is reduced. To this end, the provision will come into force 5 business days after this publication.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the rule clarifies that the AFIP maintains the provisions relating to the control and processing of charcoal export operations. That is to say, Charcoal exporters must continue to operate under the “Importer/Exporter Profile” as established in General Resolution No. 5.472, which guarantees that the control and monitoring of these operations continues effectively.
It should be noted that such a question arises from the permanent objective of the Federal Administration, which is to promote voluntary compliance with the tax obligations of taxpayers and responsible parties, while improving control.
