The Ministry of Economy announced today (24.06.2024) the distribution of the Hilton Quota, the quota of high commercial value meat cuts that Argentina exports to Europe annually. This distribution corresponds to the period between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.
According to Resolution 54 / 2024 from the Secretariat of Bioeconomy were granted 28.346,234 tonnes and there was a Free Availability Fund for Industry of 526,523 tons.
The Goals benefited companies Industry Category They are: Swift Argentina, with 2.630,26 tons; Quickfood SA, 2.021,92 tons; SA Importer and Exporter of Patagonia, 2.000 tons; Frigorífico Gorina, 1858,071 tons; Frigorífico Rioplantense, 1.822,445 tons; Arre Beef, 1.757,552 tons; Coto, 1.408,657 tons; Friar, 1.276,174 tons and Compañía Bernal, 1.218,745 tons.
According to the resolution, the registration process through the Remote Procedures Platform was in effect between May 16 and 30, and 67 applicants registered. One of them, Matadero y Frigorífico Federal, submitted its application after the registration deadline had expired and, consequently, its registration was rejected.
The Hilton Quota is "a tariff quota for the export of high-quality, high-value boneless beef granted by the European Union to meat-producing and exporting countries, with a 20% tariff preference."
"Argentina is the beneficiary of 44% of the global quota granted by the European Union; the other beneficiary countries of the quota are the United States and Canada (17%), Brazil (15%), Australia (11%), Uruguay (10%), New Zealand (2%) and Paraguay (1%)," the Secretariat of Bioeconomy also specified in a statement.
