Bilateral trade with Brazil declines in October

Trade in goods between Argentina and Brazil showed signs of cooling once again. According to the latest bilateral trade report prepared by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), trade between Argentina and Brazil registered... Exports and imports

This contraction was explained by the fall in Argentine exports, while imports from Brazil showed a moderate increase. According to the CAC, the Argentine sales to the neighboring country totaled US$1.238 billion, which represents a 13,5% decline compared to October 2024, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline. The drop was mainly due to lower shipments of passenger motor vehicles, vehicles for transport and special uses, and flour preparations and cereals.

Compared to September 2025, exports showed a slight monthly increase of 0,1%, consolidating two consecutive months of positive variations.

For its part, the CAC explains, the imports from Brazill totaled US$ 1.639 millionSales increased by 5,8% year-on-year, although they registered a 9,6% monthly decrease compared to September. The main purchases were automobiles, vehicle parts and accessories, and vehicles for the transport of goods and special uses.

As a result, the Bilateral trade was once again negative for Argentinawith a deficit of US$401 million in October. In the first ten months of 2025, the accumulated losses reached US$5.121 billion, a figure similar to that of the same period in 2024.

Argentina's position

Thus, Argentina remained as fourth supplier Brazil, behind China–Hong Kong–Macau (US$6.438 billion), the United States (US$3.979 billion) and Germany (US$1.267 billion).
Regarding purchases of Brazilian products, Argentina ranked as third buyer, surpassed by China–Hong Kong–Macau (US$9.209 billion) and the United States (US$2.217 billion).

Brazil's global trade

Globally, Brazil recorded a positive performance in October: Exports grew 9,1% year-on-year to US$31.975 billion. Imports decreased 0,8%, totaling US$25.011 billion.

Brazil's trade balance was surplus of US$6.965 billion, accumulating eight consecutive months with a positive balance.

In closing, bilateral trade with Brazil declined due to a drop in Argentine exports, while imports rose slightly. Argentina maintains a trade deficit with its main MERCOSUR partner, while Brazil continues to show a balanced foreign trade on a global scale.
