ALADI countries re-elect Sergio Abreu as Secretary General for three more years

On Friday, August 18, 2023, the Nineteenth Meeting of the ALADI Council of Foreign Ministers, which was attended by some ministers, vice-ministers and permanent representatives of the thirteen member countries.  

The highest authority approved the reelection of Dr. Sergio Abreu , the Secretary General for the period 2023-2026This decision was supported by the delegations' acclamation, a fact that highlights both his professional qualities and his career within the regional integration mechanism.

 In addition, the Council of Ministers adopted the work guidelines for the next three years, which addresses priorities and issues such as Integration, Trade and Social Inclusion; Gender and Trade; and Infrastructure and Logistics. It also covers Trade Facilitation and Customs Cooperation; Digital Agenda; and Strengthening the Support System for PMDER (Countries with Lower Relative Economic Development).
