Preparations continue for the ASAPRA 2023 General Assembly and International Congress in Chile

The International Association of Professional Customs Agents (ASAPRA) will hold its 55th Ordinary General Assembly and the International Congress, with the motto 'Towards a Digital and Ecological Global Trade', scheduled for the November 6 and 7 en Chile and within the framework of the institution's 50th anniversary.

Delegates from Latin America, the United States and Europe will be received by Felipe Serrano Solar, President of the Customs Chamber of Chile, Which will be the host of the event.

The institutional meeting of associates takes place once a year and mobilizes its members following its purposes based on sovereign equality.

Given this situation, the 21 directors of the national entities will participate in person in the activities scheduled in the southernmost country.

Thus, the Ordinary general meeting It will be installed and chaired by the President of ASAPRA, Nelson Brens Castillo (Dominican Republic), to focus on the following points:

  • Approval of Accounts
  • Election of Directors
  • Report Review
  • Statutory Deliberation
  • Training and Networking

The official program also includes the  International CongressThis training activity includes the panels “For a sustainable Customs” and “Security at the Border”, the discussion “Rules of Origin”. In addition, there will be presentations on “Artificial Intelligence in the context of foreign trade” and “Port infrastructure and new developments” and the respective “Closing remarks”.

Within the framework of the Congress, there will be participation by Demba Seck, Technical Officer Origin WCO (OMA) and Jaime Borgiani, National Director of Customs of Uruguay, who will share their experiences.
