Peas and malting barley join the SISA system

-

The Secretariat of the Government of Agroindustry of the Nation reported that starting with the current campaign, the crops of pea (Pisum sativum) and malting barley (Hordeum vulgare L. convar. distichon (L.)) are incorporated into the sworn declarations of the Simplified Agricultural Information System (SISA), in regards to the identification of the area sown by cultivar.

According to the provisions of the INASE Resolution No. 207 As of June 5 of this year, all individuals or legal entities involved in the production of peas and/or malting barley must declare their presence in the SISA, administered by the AFIP. When preparing the sworn declaration, the details of the cultivars used during the campaign under management will be required, along with their respective areas planted per cultivar, as is the case with soybeans, wheat and cotton.

It should be remembered that since the implementation of SISA in November 2018, INASE receives information declared by producers that allows it to carry out a more exhaustive monitoring and control framework., with regard to the seed acquisition chain and the use made of it, and to ensure a balance between the rights of farmers and the owners of the varieties used, as established in Article 27 of the Seed Law No. 20.247.

Pea cultivation has gained significant importance at national and international level, and in the case of malting barley it has shown an outstanding production as a winter crop and growth in recent years. Adding these crops is the beginning of many others that will be incorporated soon as another tool that the organization has to improve the efficiency, control and supervision of seed activity in the country.
